Counseling for Family Health is the private counseling practice of Eileen Crawford, Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Eileen works with individuals, couples and families to identify strengths and strategies they can use to make changes to improve the quality of their emotional and mental health and well-being.
Safe Office Update
As our health environment evolves, CFH and Eileen are committed to providing the safest possible setting for counseling. I adhere to CDC and Florida Dept. of Health guidelines to determine appropriate health protocols at the office, including social distance seating, air purified office space and contactless payment. Should you feel unwell on the day of your appointment, please contact me to reschedule.
Services are available through OFFICE VISITS or via TELEHEALTH through secure video. Eileen will work with each client to find the best fit for your needs.
About
Eileen Crawford
Eileen is an experienced therapist who believes all of us have the power to make our lives better. Her therapeutic focus looks at life's challenges through the lens of resilience by identifying individual, couple and family strengths. Eileen holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Jacksonville University, an MBA from The Citadel, and an MS in School Counseling and Family Consultation from Stetson University. Eileen has over 15 years experience, having worked for a community agency, in public schools, and in her own private practice in Celebration, Florida before moving back to Jacksonville.
Eileen holds post-masters training in Families, Illness and Collaborative Healthcare and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She is a certified Educator in "Bringing Baby Home," a program to educate and prepare couples for the emotional adjustment to parenthood. She is an accomplished writer, workshop presenter, and advocate for building strong women and girls.
It can be daunting to pick up the phone and make the call to a therapist. When you do, you have already taken the first and hardest step. Eileen works collaboratively with clients to set realistic goals and develop the insight and skills needed to reach them. We work together, and you are in charge of your counseling.
The biggest mistake couples make in therapy is waiting too long to come in. Marriages and committed relationships are living, changing and complicated entities, and it is only natural that at times we can all benefit from learning new ways to navigate choppy waters. Eileen utilizes Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a structured and highly effective approach to isolate the most critical areas of growth needed by couples to build a lasting and satisfying union.
Sometimes, it is best to bring several family members together to better understand each other and find ways to create a healthier home environment. Children and parents all need to be heard and respected as first steps to find solutions to family challenges. Eileen is well trained to understand the family system and create a safe environment for all to be heard and understood.
This unique and original educational program was developed by Eileen Crawford to meet the needs of young couples she was meeting in her practice who would "get off track" when baby arrived. Beyond the Bassinet™ is a 3 hour live, interactive class (taught in two 90 minute sessions) via Zoom, allowing participants to enjoy it from home. It prepares expectant couples for the emotional, psychological and mental health changes and challenges of new parenthood.
"Graduates" of BtB are eligible to participate in private support consultations with Eileen in the first months after baby arrives. To learn more, click:
